In this God of War commercial, Rick and Morty play as Kratos and his son ...

In a promo video that ran alongside the Sunday premiere of season 6 of Rick and Morty, the duo kind of took on the roles of Kratos and his son Atreus in the year's God of War: Ragnarok.

Rick shaves his head and smears his face with red paint to imitate Kratos' iconic facial tattoo, then thrusts Morty through a portal to the Nine Realms, the worlds of Norse mythology in which the 2018 God of War and this sequel take place.

What is the reason for all of this happening? It's a good question. Why do we have to do anything, Morty? asks Rick. Money? asks his grandson. It's not this time, but not this time, according to the scientist.

Rick and Morty have done PlayStation promo work before; in 2019, they appeared in a video spoofing Death Stranding. Morty is also currently available to play in Warner Bros. fighter MultiVersus.

God of War: Ragnarok is one of the very few major video games to have a release date for late-2022. It's available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on November 9th. I'd imagine that, like Rick, we'd be glad to be thrown into the Nine Realms when it arrives.
