Clarkson wrote:
I won American Idol twenty years ago today, and it forever changed my life. That moment was the door that opened up so much opportunity and creative partnerships that I will be grateful for every day.
I am most grateful and grateful for the friendships and arms I have formed over these 20 years in music and television. We only have so many trips around the sun, and while I am proud and fully benefited from the successes and failures that I have learned from, I am most grateful and grateful for those who have become family, and for their kindness and sincerity when I needed it.
I would not be where I am without them. I would most likely not be here at all.
Thank you so much to every single person who voted 20 years ago! Thank you! Thank you! I hope all of you have people in your lives who give you laughter, hope, and joy, and if you don't feel like you have that, keep searching.
