The Iron Throne's Intensifying Quest is Teased in a New 'House of the Dragon' Trailer ...

The House of the Dragon, the third episode of the already intriguing prequel, continued the entertaining return to Westeros. The episode saw the line of the king strengthened, intense politicking on behalf of a two-year-old infant, and Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) proving to everyone in Westeros and the Triarchy that he does not need Caraxes to be the most powerful of all the silver-haired Targaryen.

The new teaser for the new episode is called King of the Narrow Sea; it encapsulates the continents of Westeros and Essos. Yes, Visery's daughter Princess Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) is his named heir; however, he has a brother who has emerged victorious from war without aid from the Crown and his own son, Aegon II.

The king's desire to keep his wife as heir appears to be strained in their relationship; he is seen in the teaser dissolving that relationship and declaring to his daughter: You are my political headache!. Despite the queen and Otto's daughter, Alicent Hightowers (Emily Carey) caution that Daemon is not guilty and her father is a better bet.

Despite the kings' wishes for House Targaryen to remain united for a further generation, the cracks in the House of the Dragon are beginning to become cracking holes. A dragon would come crashing dangerously close to a Targaryen ship bearing Rhaenyra in the teaser.

The show has gone through a bit of a shakeup, with co-showrunner Miguel Sapochnik taking over as executive producer from season two. The move makes room for Game of Thrones veteran Alan Taylor to take over and work alongside Ryan J. Condal.

Like its Game of Thrones predecessor, House of the Dragon is based on George R. R. Martin's stories. The series is set over 200 tears in the past and features House Targaryen at the height of its strength and the civil conflict that would signal the demise of the house.

On September 11, HBO and HBO Max will release episode 3 of House of the Dragon. You may view the trailer below:
