The CEO of NCIS intends to bring back a fan-favorite character, but there's a twist ...

Abby Sciuto, a fan favorite character on NCIS since season 15, hasn't been seen since back in 2018, but that might change soon.

Although one of the series' main antagonists, Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) was recently dismissed, his presence remains.

Although he hasn't been seen, other characters have stated that he has been helping them out financially and with their careers.

"I want to start doing that with Abby's character as well. I want to feel her [presence] a bit more. I thought we were a little negligent in not [doing that sooner], but there are so many moving parts.

"But she's still out there fighting the good fight and being a part of us," says the narrator.

Perrette has not stated whether or not she will reprise her role in person, but she previously said in 2019 that she was completely done with the program.

Season 20 of NCIS begins with a two-hour crossover with their spin-off program, NCIS: Hawaii on Monday, September 19.

After a few years of occasional appearances, NCIS: Los Angeles' R Scott Gemmill has teased that Lisa Hunt will make a successful comeback as Hetty.

"We're just trying to figure out when we can do that, schedule-wise," Gemmill said.

"That was the intention last year, too, but it failed to come to fruition." "We had a bit of a [COVID variant] surge, but things are gradually settling down."

Seasons 1-19 of NCIS are available on Disney+ in the United States.
