Before Kelly Clarkson started her own daytime television show, before she established a friendly rivalry with Blake Shelton as a coach on The Voice, and before she won dozens of awards including three Grammys for her nine studio albums, she was the first winner of Fox's then-new singing competition, American Idol, in 2002. Both events occurred when the confetti fell on the 20-year-old young lady from Texas.
Kelly Clarkson has risen to fame on American Idol, and today she seems to be doing everything she cant. Movies, television, music, and hosting fans cannot seem to seem to get enough! When she took to Instagram to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her reality TV triumph, Clarkson seemed to realize that none of it would have been possible without the people who supported her on the program and throughout the years since.
Kelly Clarkson has shared a tweet (opens in new tab) from her website.

Kelly Clarkson thanked the voters who encouraged her to win the singing competition, and said of all the accomplishments she's proud of in the previous 20 years, she's most grateful for the friendships she's made and that she'd likely never be here today.
She likely couldn't have imagined what would come up in the next American Idol audition with Madonnas Express Yourself. She advanced in the competition, eventually defeating Justin Guarini (who she went on to star with in From Justin to Kelly, a film she hated) to win a recording contract.
Kelly Clarkson's audition demonstrates that she is meant to be a star! Besides her powerhouse voice, the artist has used The Kelly Clarkson Show, which has won five Daytime Emmy Awards, to have personal conversations with her guests and open up about her own personal struggles, such as her long divorce from Brandon Blackstock and what she may be able to accomplish in Hollywood.
In her thank you to fans, she urged followers to keep looking for friends who inspire them with laughter, joy, and hope.
Kelly Clarkson has been a joy to watch over the past 20 years, and her followers are hoping to continue to see what she does in the next couple of decades, including more long-awaited original music. As the former reality competition champion prepares to take over the time slot vacated by Ellen DeGeneres, her main focus is on her talk show.
Season 4 of the Kelly Clarkson Show will premiere on Monday, September 12, so make sure you check out the schedule for future premieres.
