Despite the thumbs up from critics, LOTR: The Rings Of Power was getting a review bombed. Amazon had ...

The Rings of Power, the legendary series from J.R.R. Tolkien, has received great reviews. However, a number of fans have criticized the series and, as a result, the creators have decided to take action.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, the majority of viewer ratings skew overwhelmingly negative. For example, Forbes suggested that Amazon remove reviews of the show entirely on Prime Video.

Some LOTR fans are dissatisfied with The Rings of Power, particularly when it comes to its depiction of certain characters (some of whom are presented as people of color). TROP does indeed have a far more varied cast than previous versions, and female characters are given far more freedom and direction than the original characters, according to some fans.

Some believe Peter Jackson had a better vision for the source material than the Hobbit, and fans have such a fondness for the original trilogy that nothing could possibly measure up. (Jackson has stated he was not involved in the series, claiming Amazon ghosted him.) Others feel that the time period in which the show is set isn't as relevant as those depicted in the books.

It's fair to assume that the streaming service will not be allowing reviews for it anytime soon. Amazon's original creator, Jeff Bezos, appears to be pleased with how things turned out. As they look forward to future plans, one would expect him and his creative team to continue to promote the show in positive ways.

The first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power are now available only for Amazon Prime subscribers. New episodes will be available on Fridays as part of the 2022 TV schedule.
