The Star Wars universe is constantly evolving, especially with the endless list of new Disney+ projects. This means there is room for a number of actors from different iterations of the franchise to reprise their roles in new and unique ways. When Domhnall Gleeson was asked whether or not he would want to play General Hux again in a future Disney project, he responded with a lot of interest.
Gleeson appears to be ready to change that. Hux hasnt appeared in a faraway galaxy since The Rise of Skywalker. He stated: "I've always wanted to play General Hux."
I'd certainly want to work with him, and I think there's a lot I could do more [with him]. I'm not sure anybody's clamoring for a Hux sequel or prequel, but yeah. Those movies are incredible.
General Hux was a major player in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, serving as a top First Order leader alongside Supreme Leader Snoke and Kylo Ren. However, making an appearance in something set post-Rise of Skywalker might be impossible due to the events from that film.
Despite the fact, Disney seems to be skewing its focus on prequels more towards prequels. Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen both reprised their roles in The Mandalorian Season 3, and Diego Luna will reprise his role from Rogue One in Andor, a Disney+ series premiering later this month.
Gleeson has been busy in the run-up to his Star Wars roles, including working on HBO's comedy/thriller series Frank of Ireland and the Irish comedy series The Patient, which is now available for Hulu subscribers.
Domhnall Gleeson may be waiting for a while to reprise his role as General Hux in a Star Wars sequel film, which is currently streaming for Disney+ subscribers.
