The actor of Stranger Things wants to be a James Bond villain ...

Stranger Things season 4 and No Time to Die spoilers are below.

Jamie Campbell Bower has revealed that he wants to play a villain in another major franchise, fresh from his menacing role on Stranger Things.

Bower, who played Vecna in Netflix's latest sci-fi series, has indicated that he wants to be an adversary of MI6 agent James Bond.

Bower discusses his dreams on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, declaring that he'd jump at the chance to play a spy villain in the spy series.

"I'm gunning for James Bond," he said. "Not to play Bond, but to be a villain in Bond."

The Oscar-winning actor proceeded to refer to Rami Malek's role in the recent Bond film No Time to Die, joking that he had been privy to a personal milestone.

"I remember before Rami did the film, I was like, 'I'm going to be the first person under 30 to do it,' he said of playing a Bond villain.

"Then Rami comes along and kills it, like, and I'm like, 'Dammit, I wanted to do that."

Daniel Craig's career as 007 ended with No Time to Die, with the character appearing to be destined for a horrific demise towards the end of the film.

Following this shocking twist, the franchise's future direction is currently hazy, with Barbara Broccoli and her co-producers still looking for the next Bond.

Broccoli and Michael G Wilson announced a James Bond reality competition program called 007: Road to a Million, which will be available on Amazon Prime Video earlier this year.

Bower has recently joined the cast of Kevin Costner's Horizon, and is set to return in the fifth and final series of Stranger Things.

Seasons 1-4 of Stranger Things are currently available on Netflix for streaming.
