How to Clear the Genshin Impact's Withering Zone

How to Clear the Genshin Impact's Withering Zone ...

Genshin Impact now has a lot of new features since its inception. We now have more insight into the dendro element in Sumeru's Dendro-focused area.

There are danger zones out in Sumeru, but it's not all sunshine and rainbows.

What are Withering Zones?

Withering Zones are areas of death and decay that occur across Sumeru. These zones are based on the Withering, a geophysical and climate phenomenon that occurs in the area. No fauna or fauna survives here, and humans are no exception.

Only those who possess Visions are able to resist its decay and corrosion, according to the theory.

It is up to us to remove the corruption in these areas given the inherent threat of Withering Zones. Bringing back the beauty of Sumeru in the region that was devastated by the Withering in that area will see life go back to normal.

The majority of the Withering Zones are found in Sumeru's overworld, but the others can be hidden. Some of them are hidden underground in areas that can only be reached through a nearby tunnel.

How to Clear Genshin Impact Withering Zones

The first thing to note here is that each Withering Zone has a Tumor that is responsible for the expansion of the Withering. This is the primary aim here to prevent further corrosion from occurring, giving the land the chance to heal and rebuild itself.

Attention: As you enter a Withering Zone, stacks of decay will build up. With each stack of decay that builds up, your max health and resistances will decrease in increasing amounts. It's time to get started on destroying those Tumors.

First off, interact with the Auspicious Branches nearby to summon three Dendrograna that will follow you around. Collect these Dendrograna and fire them off at the Fetid Boughs that occasionally spawn in these Withering Zones. They are usually small red blobs that are stuck on trees. Smash them with the Dendrograna to prevent them from stacking more decay on you.

After the Withering Branches are taken care of, proceed forward and destroy the Withering Branches in the same manner you destroyed the Fetid Boughts. The Withering Branches will fire off Wither Bolts at their attacker when they are destroyed. Before destroying the last one, trace its roots back to the site of the Tumor.

Destroy the last Withering Branch to spawn a Disciple of Decay. This enemy spreads decay so its best to destroy it quickly. It's time to remove the Tumor once and for all.

Head to the Tumor itself and interact with it to complete the Withering Zone once all of the obstacles have been cleared. This process may be repeated at other Withering Zones as well.

Things to remember

Following these recommendations should allow you to clear Withering Zones in a matter of weeks, although there are a few things to keep in mind before you tackle one of these areas.

  • The decay effects can stack up to a maximum of 10 times.
  • The decay debuff reduces resistances by four percent and max health by 9.5 percent per stack.
  • Entering a Withering Zone automatically adds anywhere between two to four stacks of decay.
  • Any attack received from an enemy already affected by the Withering will add one stack of decay. This includes environmental damage as well.
  • When the decay stacks reach eight, a visual effect will warn players of impending danger.
  • Withering Zones themselves will stack decay on you at the rate of one stack every 10 seconds.
  • Once all 10 stacks accumulate on you, you have to find a way to get rid of them within 10 seconds. If you dont, you and every affected party member with 10 stacks will eventually die.

Once you have all of this, you should be ready to tackle Withering Zones.
