The Lid On Monster Recruitment And More Has Been Lifted In Dragon Quest Treasures ...

Splatoon 3, Bayonetta 3, and Sonic Frontiers are all coming to Nintendo Switch in the coming weeks and months. On December 9th, 2022, a little game called Dragon Quest Treasures will be released.

Treasures was originally intended to be a Dragon Quest spin-off at Nintendo's Direct Mini showcase earlier this year, but there's still a lot of fun to be discovered, and Square-Enix has now revealed some more of the game's core mechanics.

We're given a brief glimpse into the world of monster recruitment. Held in Draconia, monsters can be fought by protagonists Erik and Mia; once defeated, some may be willing to join your party and offer unique abilities to assist you on our quest. Rainbow-colored Monsters are the rarest and may be the most difficult to recruit.

Square-Enix also discussed the types of monsters you'll be recruiting. First up is a cute pink slime called Oozabella, which can always be seen wearing a cute yellow bow. In addition, we see the Valhalla Vulture, the Fiery Dragling, and the Stormy Sabrecat.

Finally, we get a good look at a mechanic known as 'Fortes,' which are unique Monster abilities that will allow Erik and Mia to navigate the dangerous land of Draconia. These include the Launch Forte, which allows Erik and Mia to go over great heights and avoid falling damage, The Stealth Forte for rapid land traversal, and the Scan Forte, which will be crucial for locating key crafting materials.

Square-Enix provided a fair amount of information on the two protagonists in Dragon Quest Treasures, Erik and Mia, so be sure to check them out and get fully caught up. For more screenshots, click here.
