The release of Portal and Portal 2 via the Portal: Companion Collection on Nintendo's hybrid console was without doubt one of the greatest surprises of the year. Wheatley and the respected GlaDOS are two of the most well-known video games of all time.
One of the most common Valve jokes is that the publisher is seemingly incapable of bringing a third entry to their popular IP. Franchises like Left 4 Dead, Portal, and Half-Life have all come to an end with their respective sophomore titles (although Half-Life Alyx is technically the third mainline entry to the Half-Life series), but this hasn't stopped fans from requesting and petitioning for more Valve goodness.
Ellen McLain, the well-known actress who plays Portal's main antagonist GlaDOS, has expressed her desire for a new Portal franchise entry recently.
"Well, write in! Valve! I've given you my approval. Say "Ellen wants to do a Portal 3"!
Ellen says the intention is clear: an actor's job is to ensure that a character doesn't feel stale after several portrayals, stating that Valve always provided good guidance on how GlaDOS should be presented in the games. The conclusion here is that Ellen is more than willing to take on the role of GlaDOS once more, and isn't particularly concerned about the character becoming stale.
Erik Wolpaw, the author of Portal and Portal 2, expressed similar interest in a new Portal title in a previous interview with KIWI TALKZ. "I'll work on another Portal in a second, but I can't make it happen by myself."
