Elon Musk Slams Jerk Male Characters' Power Rings: Tolkien Is Turning in His Grave ...

Elon Musk is set to marry Jeff Bezos, and it will be the main character in the Amazon Prime Video mega-series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

The long-running feud between the Tesla CEO (and would-be Twitter owner) and Amazon CEO forged a different route, with Musk criticizing Amazon's Prime Video series The Rings of Power, which is costing Amazon hundreds of millions of dollars and already has a five-season order.

Musk said that Tolkien is turning in his grave. Almost every male character so far is a coward, a jerk, or both. Only Galadriel is brave, smart, and nice.

In the series, Morfydd Clark plays Galadriel; the character was first introduced to screen in the Peter Jacksons trilogy and was played by Cate Blanchett. Clarks take on Galadriel positions the elven leader as an action hero.

The Rings of Power defeated other Amazon show premieres in order to make history on the streaming platform. The first two episodes, which premiered September 2, were streamed more than 25 million times in their first 24 hours on the site. However, Amazon has suspended audience reviews in part due to racist casting backlash.

JD Payne and Patrick McKay, who wrote the original J.R.R. Tolkiens appendices, praised the differences between the Prime Video series and the original works, particularly with the interpretation of Galadriel.

Bezos addressed showrunners Payne and McKay, saying, "I need to thank you both for listening whenever it helped," but most importantly, I need to thank you forignoring me at the appropriate times.

Bezos said, "It was my grandfather who introduced me to Tolkien." I fell in love with the story of the universe, with the feelings of hope and optimism, with the idea that everybody has a role to play in this world." My kids have become Tolkien fans as well. One day, he looked me in the eyes, very sincerely, and he replied: "Please don't eff this up."

Tolkien is turning in his grave.

Elon Musk (@elonmusk) will be released on September 5, 2022.
