If you're even remotely aware of Twitter's veritable hellscape, you'll have no doubt seen a meme where gamers take pictures of their Switch console docked with a game disc from another platform resting on top; a metaphor for the user's desire to see a game port of said game arrive on the Switch.
We're certain you'll agree that this is a harmless way of attracting a few likes and retweets, but what if you inserted a Switch cart into the Wii U's disc drive instead? It's a recipe for disaster, and unfortunately that's exactly what one owner in North America had to deal with after his son got his hands on both systems.
Jose A Cruz posted images on Twitter of a demolished Wii U console in order to dispose of a bunch of Switch carts from the disc drive. While it's difficult to see all of the four, we can see that three of the four are Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Mario Party Superstars, and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.
Anyone's guess as to how this particular Switch cart became successful on the Wii U? Perhaps it was a deliberate act of rebellion? Regardless, we're just picturing the shocked look on the owner's face when they realized where their missing Switch carts were.
The Wii U disc drive appears to be working fine, and the Switch carts have been securely removed with no signs of damage, thus the outcome.
Nevertheless, you must keep your valuables out of reach if you have children - especially young ones. Switch carts might taste awful, but they will likely end up in other difficult-to-reach locations!
