The new gray camouflage patterns for the DualSense wireless controller, PlayStation 5 console covers, and Pulse 3D wireless headset will be released this fall by Sony Interactive Entertainment. While ostensibly timed to hit alongside the October release of modern military shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the new gray camouflage pattern designs will primarily serve as a tool for making jokes about how you cant find your DualSense controller (because its camouflaged).
The gray camouflage console covers for those who dislike the traditional white PlayStation 5 appearance or otherwise clash with their interior design will provide an excellent opportunity to joke, say, "Dont worry, youll never have to see that ugly PS5 again." This is in reference to the camouflaged design, which would only work in practice if you were, say, hunting deer in the woods.
Sony's Gray Camouflage Collection for PS5 will launch on October 14. The DualSense controller and PS5 console covers will be released in December. However, colored DualSense controllers sell for $74.99, a $5 discount over standard PS5 controllers. Existing models of the Pulse 3D wireless headset costs $99.99.
Here's a closer look at the PS5 Gray Camouflage Collection, trust me, they're all visible if you look closely! Haha.
The Gray Camouflage collection follows a similar pattern of PlayStation 4 releases. During that console's life cycle, Sony released DualShock 4 controllers in at least four camouflage colors: green, blue, red, and gray.
In January, Sony began selling colored console covers for the PS5 that allowed previous-gen console owners to replace them with Midnight Black, Cosmic Red, Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple options. DualSense controllers were also released.
