As players are already clogging up the popular retro MMORPG servers, WoW Wrath of the Lich King Classic queues have risen. The pre-patch and accompanying Scourge Invasion have already proved too difficult for Blizzard to handle.
Wrath of the Lich King Classic will be released on digital store shelves at the end of this month. Long-time WoW players have been waiting for this moment for years and years, as WotLK is one of, if not the, most popular expansions of all time.
Blizzard released the pre-patch for the expansion ahead of the full launch on August 31. Players may discover new content ahead of time, such as leveling, the upcoming Scourge Invasion event, and playing the new Death Knight class.
With every new Warcraft expansion, a significant influx of new and returning players is expected to get back to work all night long. However, with Wrath of the Lich King, a large number of players is returning to WoW Classic.
Tons of posts on the WoW Classic subreddit page have been focused on the ridiculously long queue times that are currently clogging up almost every server available. One user lamented the ridiculous queue times with the trade-proposition meme that said, Blizzard receives $15, you receive no gameplay.
Other users have posted queue times that reach over 6,500 players, which in turn leads to wait times over the 100-minute mark. With Wrath of the Lich King Classic players so eager to return to Northrend, there is a huge queue time problem that isnt going away anytime soon.
Another WoW fan chastises the WoW community for pushing for mega-servers rather than tons of decently populated servers. They said, call it me being pitiful, and let's all reap what you sow. My server (Ashbringer) was not killed by Blizzard, it was the community's greed.
Hopefully, Blizzard will discover a way to help players get into the game quicker. Check out our WoW Wrath of the Lich King pre-patch schedule and WoW Wrath of the Lich King preview to get you excited.
