Strictly Come Dancing star reveals why he isn't "bored" after 6 years on the BBC dance show ...

Gorka Marquez has made it clear that he will not be leaving anytime soon as the next series of Strictly Come Dancing approaches.

Even after six years on the physically demanding program, the professional dancer admits he never gets "bored" with the BBC One dance competition.

Gorka said that each season feels completely new as he gets to know a new person and learn all about their lives.

"It's a new way to see dance through their eyes," Gorka said in an interview with OK!

"People say, 'Aren't you bored after six years?' but it's like I'm seeing it through the celebrities' eyes for the first time, and that gives me motivation and inspiration to create new numbers.

"I get to know what they like and what they don't like, their background, and their profession."

"The most important thing is making sure the celebrities have a great time," said the Spanish dancer.

Gorka added that the new line-up of celebrities makes each year feel special as they fuel the set's energy and become more invested in the competition as they go along.

"The more they invest in the program and grow the more we want to do," he said.

"Sometimes, I go through the whole series sleeping four hours a day, and then when it gets to the final, I'm KO'd. My phone rings, and I change my WhatsApp to 'don't call me.'

On September 17, Strictly Come Dancing will return to screens for the first time in its history.

Gorka will reprise her role as the reigning champion Giovanni Pernice, who won the series with EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis last year, as well as other fan favorites, including Graziano Di Prima, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, and Johannes Radebe.

Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas, Carlos Gu, and Vito Coppola are all set to make their debut on the BBC show later this month.

On BBC One, Strictly Come Dancing is available.
