The Academy Awards were held back in March, but the events surrounding them haven't slowed down much. This is, of course, because Will Smith infamously walked on stage and slapped Chris Rock on national television, shortly before winning the Best Actor award. The stalemate has lasted for months, with Smith recently posting a long video online that makes clear that it was appropriate for Will Smith.
Will Smith apologized to the general public and Chris Rock for his actions during his stand-up performance at the Academy Awards at the end of July. According to an anonymous source, the comedian may be feeling some relief after posting a lengthy apology video.
Will is much more self-assured, much happier, and less depressed. He was in very low spirits prior to his public apology. He now feels more comfortable in front of the camera again because he has and continues to do the work that needs to be done for himself, his wife, his family, his friends, The Academy, and his family.
Well, there you have it. Will Smith is apparently lighter after apologizing to the public and Chris Rock. Prior to that, Smith had never posted on social media at all or even been seen in public for the months following the Oscars. Well, we'll see if he or Chris Rock ever reach agreement in the future.
Will Smith made his first public appearance shortly after releasing the apology video to the general public. Despite the fact that he still has a number of projects on the line, it appears that Smith has at least been feeling better interpersonally before his professional comeback.
Chris Rock did not respond well to Will Smith's viral apology video, which was previously mentioned. Rock said on stage occasionally when asked by Smith to repeat something.
Fuck your hostage video.
Will Smith may be feeling less depressed, but the road to a reunion with Chris Rock is sure to be a long one. It's hard to imagine either of the celebrities ever truly being free of their association with The Slap. Rock was humiliated on stage during the viral moment in time, for a joke he didn't seem to like to be all that offensive.
Chris Rock is busy with his stand-up program. As for Will Smith, it's unclear when his next film Emancipation will be released. In the meantime, check out the 2022 film release dates to plan your next movie experience.
