Sadie Sink, a rising star, will join the cast of Berlin Nobody. The Stranger Things actor will join Eric Bana in the German-set thriller. The film is based on the Nicholas Hogg novel Tokyo, although the location has been moved from Tokyo to Berlin, as the title suggests.
Sink will play Mazzy, the daughter of Ben Monroe (Bana), a social psychologist who moves to Berlin to study cults. Jonas Dassler plays a strange local boy, as Sylvia Hoeks and Sophie Rois play the character in the upcoming Jordan Scott film.
Sink has had a great year in 2022, with her character Max getting her most significant role yet in this summer's fourth season of Stranger Things, and she is currently receiving recognition for her role as Brendan Fraser's daughter in Darren Aronofsky's The Whale, which premiered last week at the Venice Film Festival. She will next be seen in the upcoming drama Dear Zoe.
Scott, a British director, has directed two films, one of which featured Eva Green and Juno Temple in 2011's The Golden Glove; the other is the adaptation of Blade Runner 2049 and The Girl in the Spider's Web, which will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this month. Austria's Rois can be seen in the Netflix series Barbarians and Enemy at the Gates.
Ridley Scott, Scott's father, and Michael Pruss, who directed the film, produce Berlin Nobody; Jonas Katzenstein and Maximilian Leo will direct for Augenschein Filmproduktion, Georgina Pope will direct, and Augenschein's Jonathan Saubach will direct. They previously collaborated on the German survival thriller The Dive.
Filming in Berlin Nobody begins today in Berlin.
