Isabelle Fuhrman has been selected to star in the Kevin Costner-helmed western Horizon, according to Deadline. Fuhrman will join Costner, Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Luke Wilson, Thomas Haden Church, Jena Malone, Alejandro Edda, Tatanka Means, and Michael Rooker, who previously announced.
With his 1990 film Dances With Wolves, Costner first ventured into the civil war. After receiving 12 Academy Award nominations and taking home seven, including Best Picture and Best Director, it's a no-brainer why Costner is returning to this time period for his next project.
The film will feature several storylines as the cast trudges forward to get through the 15-year period prior to, during, and after the Civil War. They will observe and interact with nature's extreme elements, collaborate, and sometimes clash with indigenous peoples who have inhabited this region for thousands of years.
Fuhrman recently restyled her hair into pigtails to reprise her role as Esther in Orphan: First Kill, which received a limited theatrical release that was quickly expanded after it grossed $9.5 million at the box office. Both she and the film have recently been featured in Lauren Hadaways' sports drama The Novice, which has received critical acclaim.
Fuhrman will reprise her role in the cool sci-fi film Littlemouth, which will star Dennis Quaid and Josh Hutcherson, a fellow The Hunger Games alum. She's also working on Jordan Gertners (Spring Breakers) action thriller, Unit 237, with Andy Tennants.
Costner wrote the script for Horizon alongside BAFTA nominee Jon Baird. Costners Territory Pictures, Inc. is the parent company of Costners Territory Pictures, Inc. Audiences can expect Costner to deliver on his latest western project.
