Festivals provide an opportunity for participants to show off their latest appearance in addition to premiering new films.

Tilda Swinton, who is currently participating in the 79th Venice Film Festival, has certainly grasped the opportunity with both hands.

With neon yellow hair while wearing an oversized blue and white striped shirt and red tracksuit bottoms, the actor, who won an Academy Award in 2008 for her role in Michael Clayton, walked up to the red carpet for the Italian festival (via Daily Mail).

The star, who is well-known for her roles in blockbusters and independent films, is at the festival to promote The Eternal Daughter, directed by Joanna Hogg (The Souvenir). The film, which is co-produced by A24 and BBC Films, follows a mother and daughter returning to their mysterious family home.

Swinton, who is currently seen in George Miller's Three Thousand Years of Longing, has had an outstanding performance at the festival in the past, including winning the Best Actress Award in 1991 for her role in Edward II. In 2020, she was honored with the Career Golden Lion Award, which honors previous accomplishments in the film industry.

Swinton has been flamboyant for the first time in Marvel's Doctor Strange and Avengers: Endgame.

The Venice Film Festival, which will run from 31 August to 10 September this year, is one of the four major events on the calendar, along with Cannes, Berlin, and Toronto.

The Golden Lion, the festivals Best Film award, will be decided by a jury headed by Julianne Moore, with nominees including The Banshees of Inisherin, Marilyn Monroe's biopic Blonde, and The Whale.
