The story of Thor and the Guardians is expanded in a deleted scene from Thor: Love and Thunder ...

Do you remember when you told us that this would be a safe vacation? And you said, Oh yeah, 100%?

Taika Waititis Thor: Love and Thunder's post-Avengers: Endgame stint did not go as smoothly as some may have hoped. Star-Lord, who is mourning the death of Gamora, could have used some TLC while returning to his new family, the Guardians of the Galaxy, but nothing would ever be that easy without an existential Thor. Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe now have a better understanding of Quill's reaction as he prepares for his final Guardians

Quill asks Thor for an assist on a planet that was intended to be a relaxing vacation spot. It turns out to be an all-out war. Waititi got far enough in this scene to have practical battle effects popping off everywhere, but have an unfinished Korg bumbling in the background. It would have been more of the more darkly comedic parts of MCU history.

Thor: Love and Thunder will be released on Disney Plus on Thursday (with a digital release scheduled for September 8,), but the Blu-ray contains deleted scenes and other exclusive extras. It will be available on shelves on September 27.
