The top five candidates for the MVP of the 2022 LCS Summer Split have been determined after months of competition leading into the LCS Championship.

Riot has revealed that Evil Geniuses Inspired and Danny, Cloud9s Berserker, 100 Thieves Ssumday, and FlyQuests Toucouille are the top five players vying for the MVP of the Summer Split, according to League Esports staff in an official post. The winner will be announced on September 9.

Ssumday is the only LCS veteran among the top five players to respond to a major shift in the tank meta as the season progressed, once again becoming a central part of the teams teamfighting strategies. According to Oracles Elixir, he finished the Summer Split with the highest KDA of all top laners at 5.2.

Notably, the other four players competing for the MVP of the Summer Split have all started their careers in the LCS within the previous year. Thanks to Zven's vast champion pool, C9s ADC Berserker has developed a strong edge among the tough competition in the role.

Danny, an EGs ADC, stood out in his first full season in the LCS, despite a myriad of pentakills and veteran-like play that earned him a 7.5 KDA in the Summer Split, only behind Team Liquids Bjergsen and his own duo, Vulcan. Inspired, a former LEC MVP, is once again at the front of the MVP race, though his 7.4 mark was the highest of all junglers.

Toucouille may not have qualified for the World Cup, but his debut season in the LCS earned him a spot among fans and players alike. He helped propel FlyQuest to the top of the LCS leaderboard and newfound attention to the club.

On September 9, the MVP of the 2022 LCS Summer Split will be announced, one day before the LCS Championship finals in Chicago, Illinois.
