Taika Waititis' post-Avengers: Endgame stint was a disappointment. Star-Lord, who is mourning the passing of Gamora, could have used some TLC while returning to his new family, the Guardians of the Galaxy, but nothing was ever going to be that easy without an existential Thor. Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe can now see Quill develop an eye twitch as he approaches 2023s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Quill asks Thor for help on a planet that was meant to be a relaxation site. It turns out to be an all-out war. Waititi got far enough in this film to have practical battle effects popping off everywhere, but have an unfinished Korg bumbling in the background. And if the scene had actually made it into the movie, it would have been more of the darker darker parts in Marvel Cinematic Universe history.

Thor: Love and Thunder will be released on Disney Plus on Thursday (with a digital release planned for September 8), but the Blu-ray includes deleted scenes and other exclusive extras. The disc will be released on September 27.
