In anticipation of its long-awaited 19th season, Greys Anatomy has released a first-look video introducing a new group of first-year surgical residents who will be introduced in the following seasons. Meredith Grey tells them, "You did it. You will end lives." With these high stakes, the video reveals to us that these interns are diamonds in the rough, who were not accepted elsewhere, but were given a second chance to prove their abilities at Grey Sloan.
The new actors discuss their characters' personalities and the challenges that they will face. Next, we have Jules Millin, played by Adelaide Kane, who has a suggested past with Dr. Atticus Lincoln. Kane describes Jules as a little bit bossy and impulsive but also adds in that she is very kind-hearted.
Niko Terho introduces Lucas Adams, saying that he is the black sheep of his family and that his family is extremely successful. He is attempting to be No. 1 in his class. Mika Yasuda, played by Midori Francis, is the class clown of the group.
After their disagreement in Season 18, the video gives us the impression that Meredith is back on track with Nick (Scott Speedman) and that some familiar faces will return as well, including Bailey, Owen, Teddy, and of course Meredith Grey.
Floyd said fans should expect all of the things they love about the program throughout the 19th season, but with a punch of freshness.
The long-running ABC medical drama follows surgical residents, interns, and attending physicians as they reconcile their professional and private lives and navigate complex personal relationships. The title of the program is a reference to Grays Anatomy, a classic medical and anatomy textbook written by Henry Gray and published in London in 1858.
Greys Anatomy's 19th season will premiere on ABC on October 6 at 9 p.m. ET.
