On the next 007, John Boyega will give the 411.
During the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Woman King actor commented on rumors that the next James Bond would be black.I'm sorry, but im Black I don't know how.
When Boyega says, "You're black, I don't know how that goes." That's normal to you. Even the mention of a Black Bond is like, "Oh, okay."
The star of Breaking talked about how it's doubtful that Bond's producers would give the role to a Black actor. I don't necessarily believe that, Boyega said, but if that's what they're doing then it's quite remarkable to me.
Boyega dismissed rumors that he would join the MCU while confirming to Mens Health that he was not on the shortlist to play Bond. But, you know, if they give me that call, I'll be there, he added.
Boyega stated that he prefers to do nuanced things when it comes to selecting roles.
Because I know it's very difficult to surpass Iron Man in that universe, Boyega said of Marvel films.
Idris Elba spoke out against the Black Bond speculation recently, saying on the The Shop podcast that portraying the famous MI6 agent isn't a career goal.
Elba explained that playing Bond would not satisfy some of my personal goals. It will certainly satisfy the will of a nation. Every corner of the world I go, and im talking about different cultures, they always go Bond, and I feel it is beyond me at this junction. It is not a question of, should I, do I, will I. It is what the nation's will dictates sometimes.
Elba said, "I'm not a professional footballer, but in everyone's world I'm." And that's done, because the truth is, you know, a lot of people are really seeing Idris playing Bond as the alternative Bond. And as long as that alternative is available, it's great for fucking casting.
Elba even questioned the reason for his fan-casting as Bond.
If you agree that I should perform that role, can you explain why and why you think I should perform it? Elba stated. Do you think that there is a nostalgia and be honest, there is a nostalgia to the idea?
Barbara Broccoli, who played Bond on the Bridgerton breakout, said the next Bond might be any ethnic or race, but it isn't clear when it will be released until the following two years, with other names like Rege-Jean Page, Tom Hardy, and Jacob Elordi expected to be in the mix.
