Tom Hanks Confirms He Nearly Had A Secret Cameo In Solo: A Star Wars Story ...

There are many popular film franchises, but then there's Star Wars. Entire generations were educated in the faraway galaxy, and its a major part of pop culture as a whole. But what about Tom Hanks, the great Elvis actor who recently confessed he almost had a secret comeo in Solo: A Star Wars Story?

Since Disney acquired Lucasfilm and rebuilt the property, a slew of standalone films have been produced and released. Tom Hanks recently appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, where he was asked to confirm or refute rumors that Howard approached him to play a Stormtrooper.

I would have done it, but I couldnt get there in time. I think now if you do a survey all kinds of famous people have been in the Stormtrooper outfit. I think Danny Craig was in one, I know movie executives have shown up to be a Stormtrooper. I would do it. That was one thing about Star Wars, as soon as you saw those guys running around in those Stormtrooper outfits, you were in the hands of something thatd been very well thought out.

Okay, so there you have it. It looks like timing and travel prevented Tom Hanks from getting to know the galaxy far, far away as a Stormtrooper. And in the process, he would have joined the ranks of various celebrities and executives who have suited up to play within the property in this subtle way. Maybe that's why Stormtroopers have such a notoriously terrible goal.

When it came to the discussion about Solo: A Star Wars Story, Tom Hanks' remarks from Happy Sad Confused came during a round of quick fire questions, where the recognized actor was able to confirm or refute rumors about his career. However, this was not the case when it came to the film about the somewhat well-known Stormtrooper.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is quite well-known as far as big screen installments of the franchise go. Before they were unceremoniously sacked from the film by the Lucasfilm executives, Ron Howard stepped in to complete the film, which ended up being the franchise's sole box office disappointment. Still, Tom Hanks seems to wish he had the chance to make a top secret appearance.

Daniel Craig got to participate in the popular space opera in the same fashion as Rey managed to manage to mind control while in First Order captivity, according to the Forrest Gump icon. Now somebody has to ask Ron Howard where he would have included Tom Cruises in the film.

Taika Waititi is expected to direct the next standalone film for cinemas in the Star Wars franchise in 2022.
