Dont Worry Darling and its director Olivia Wilde are among the films scheduled to be released in 2022, especially after feud rumors about Wilde and her co-star Florence Pugh were dropped. Now, the actress has commented on the earlier allegations about her separation from Ted Lasso actor Jason Sudeikis and her current relationship with co-star and pop sensation Harry Styles.
The Don't Worry Darling director and actress' relationship with Styles has been roiled for months now, including around her separation from Sudeikis. She broke it off with the Ted Lasso star almost two years ago, in November of 2020. There have been rumors, awkward situations, and scrutiny since.
In a profile on Vanity Fair, she spoke forth about her current boyfriend and her ex-partner, dismissing rumors and describing how she is managing her relationships. Most of what she has heard is "horseshit."
The entire horseshoe notion that I left Jason for Harry is completely incorrect. Our relationship was over long before I met Harry. Like any relationship that ends overnight, it does not end overnight. Unfortunately, Jason and I encountered a difficult road, and we officially disbanded the relationship toward the outbreak's end.
The couple met at a Saturday Night Live afterparty in 2011 but never married. They had their first child in 2014 and their second in 2016. Although Wilde and Sudekis are still co-parenting following the split, she says the relationship did not "end overnight."
We co-parented two children while we were working on the lockdown, and when it became clear that cohabitation was no longer beneficial for the children, it became the responsibility to not, because we could be better parents as friends who live in different houses.
When Wilde received legal papers from Sudeikis at CinemaCon, everyone was irritated. Nevertheless, she told the publication that she was not surprised when it happened. The SNL alum later clarified that it was not his intention to have the papers served so publicly.
The relationship between Wilde and Styles is met with a lot of attention, both good and bad. The director of Dont Worry Darling has spoken out about the phony narrative surrounding her relationship. These include the also untrue and alleged spit incident between Styles and Chirs Pine (which Styles jokedly addressed) and that Styles has contributed significantly to the film.
Wilde appears to have dismissed most of the information surrounding the release of Dont Worry Darlings and clarified other sections of it. We'll just have to wait and see what happens next, since at this rate there is always something to worry about.
