Kelly Clarkson may be assuming the position previously held by Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey, but her dominance of daytime TV is not guaranteed. While this spring saw the departure of such talk show hosts as Wendy Williams, who was replaced after 13 seasons due to health concerns, and Nick Cannon, who was canceled after only one season, this fall saw the debut of two new faces to the game, including Sherri Shepherd and Jennifer Hudson.
Season 4 of The Kelly Clarkson Show will premiere on Monday, September 12, the same day that Sherri and The Jennifer Hudson Show will air premiere episodes. While the trio may be fighting for some of the same audience, Kelly Clarkson told Variety she couldnt be happier about the chance all three women have.
I am so excited for Sherri Shepherd. She is one of my favorite guests. I swear by her on my program, and I'm so grateful for Jennifer Hudson. I've just wanted to make sure everyone knows that we're all so different. Daytime is a wonderful opportunity for us to share something positive.
The original American Idol winner stated that she, Sherri Shepherd, and Jennifer Hudson have the opportunity to bring something different to daytime television, and I love to see women supporting other women on this level. Shepherd appears to be on a similar wavelength to Clarkson, as she has spoken recently about wanting to keep away from the negative content that can be found on talk shows. Shepherd wants to create a more celebrity-friendly environment.
When it comes to positive vibes, J-Hud is right in the loop. She hopes her viewers will draw inspiration from The Jennifer Hudson Show and realize they are on the top of the world when they leave.
All three hosts appear to be willing to inject some serious energy into their next seasons, and it will be interesting to see how their individual personalities interact throughout their interviews and other segments. Jennifer Hudson, for her part, has many talents to display, so whether it be music, theater, or something else.
The Kelly Clarkson Show, Sherri, and The Jennifer Hudson Show will premiere on Monday, September 12, so make sure you check your local listings for time and channel. Also check out our 2022 TV Schedule to see what other premieres will be coming soon.
