A new face is forming alongside the reigning LCS champions to try to assist them in their quest for what might be their second consecutive title.
Danny has announced his retirement from the Evil Geniuses main roster to concentrate on his mental health, and the League of Legends team has announced that EG Academy ADC Kaori will fill in for him for the remainder of the LCS Championship.

After three years of playing in the Turkish League scene, Kaori has reached the top of the TCL ladder on several occasions. This was his first year in the NA Academy scene, where he had the opportunity to play alongside multi-year LCS veteran Smoothie.
EG Academy struggled throughout the year, finishing eighth in the Spring Split and ninth in the Summer Split, failing to finish in the top 10 in both Proving Grounds competitions. This year, Kaori made significant strides in his seasons on Champions Queue, recently finishing 16th in the Summer Season.
Kaori has not had the opportunity to compete on the LCS stage prior to this upcoming weekend. EG will begin their fight in the LCS Championship against 100 Thieves in the lower bracket finals on Saturday, Sept. 10. Should they advance, they will face Cloud9 in the finals the next day.
After the finals, EG has already earned their spot in this years World Championship. The seeding of these two teams and their group placement will be determined in the group draw show.
