What is NBA 2K23 Dreamer Edition, and is it worth it?

What is NBA 2K23 Dreamer Edition, and is it worth it? ...

Every yearly NBA 2K series release comes with a choice of editions to choose from, and NBA 2K23 is no exception. Scheduled for a September 9 release, players who pre-order any edition receive the pre-order bonuses, but players who purchase the special edition can get more.

The Michael Jordan edition, which costs $100, includes a large amount of bonuses like MyTEAM packs, points, tokens, and cards, as well as a 100,000 virtual currency and more. The Championship edition, which costs $150, is only available for pre-order and includes all of the above, as well as a MJ-themed go-kart and a one-year subscription to NBA League Pass.

There's still a second edition that hasn't been released, even a day before the game is scheduled to launch: the Dreamer Edition with special cover athlete and recording artist J. Cole. Here's what we know so far about this unique special edition of NBA 2K23.

What is the NBA 2K23 Dreamer Edition?

There isn't a lot of information available about what's included in NBA 2K23 Dreamer Edition. It's not available on Steam, neither the Xbox or PlayStation store, nor the NBA 2K website's pre-order page. Even the NBA 2K Twitter's announcement does not mention the same date as the games' release.

Our #NBA2K23 DREAMER Edition Cover Athlete will be announced this Fall on Twitter @OgtaMV735f.

According to a press release on the NBA website for the Dreamer Edition, the game will be available exclusively at GameStop in the United States and Canada, and only for PS5 and Xbox Series X. However, there are no Dreamer Edition listings for NBA 2K23 on GameStop currently.

The Dreamer Edition for NBA 2K23 is just a unique cover for the game, and it's unlikely that it will include any new in-game content. J. Cole will be included in the base game, as a part of the MyCAREER storyline, and in the official soundtrack.
