Players to the Pokemon Sword and Shield Online Competition may only play Gym Leaders Pokemon

Players to the Pokemon Sword and Shield Online Competition may only play Gym Leaders Pokemon ...

Players of Pokemon Sword and Shield now have a peek at the next Online Competition that will launch at the end of the month, which fits perfectly in with the franchise's current anime arc.

The Champion League will be held in September, and participants will only be permitted to use Pokemon that have been used by gym leaders in the franchise, not just in Sword and Shield.

This means you have a much-restricted pool of Pokemon to choose from that doesnt include any legendary species. As for the format, things will be your usual Single Battle format, and all participants will earn 50BP for participating.

Returning players will know the same thing from previous Online Competitions, but here's a step-by-step guide:

  • Boot up the menu of your Sword or Shield game.
  • Choose the VS. option.
  • Now select Battle Stadium.
  • Once you click Online Competitions you should see the Champion League so simply follow the prompts to register.

After youre all signed up, all you have to do is wait until the event goes live on September 23 to participate in your battles and earn your BP.
