Many players will benefit from God of War Ragnaroks' accessibility features ...

So that a greater number of players may witness Kratos and Atreus' epic and apocalyptic adventures, God of War Ragnarok will include more than 60 accessibility options.

Mila Pavlin, the lead UX designer at Santa Monica Studio, discussed the features in a PlayStation blog post during Global Accessibility Awareness Day. In an interview with Game Informer, God of War Ragnarok is the most accessible game in the franchise.

Pavlin said this is a fantasy epic about a father and son. This is a story about fate and the Nine Realms. And the ability to go into that, regardless of your background, and experience all of this rich detail, history, and narrative? That's what drives me every day.

According to Pavlin, the title focuses on vision, hearing, motor skills, and cognitive understanding in order to meet the needs of players with the most varied limitations. The development team was assisted by a wide spectrum of consultants and testers, including veterans and blind players.

The controls cover the entire campaign of the game, including options from the PC version of God of War (2018), such as toggles for auto sprint and fighting postures, as well as a high contrast mode with specific colors for objects and enemies, audio progression tips, automatic collecting mechanics, and more.

Pavlin said that if I can increase the amount of players who can play one more player, then that would be the greatest thing in the world.

Among the more than 60 functions are a camera navigation assistant, puzzle/mini-game assistance, and automatic platforming, as well as additional features designed for streamers as an option that shows on-screen control and allows streamers to share moment-to-moment button inputs with larger audiences.

The studio indicated that future enhancements may include additional features, but they did not specify what they would be.

God of War Ragnarok will be released on November 9 in stores, including PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
