A Modern Warfare 2 player demonstrates a clever technique to defeat VTOL with one bullet ...

A Modern Warfare 2 player has discovered a clever trick to wield the VTOL killstreak rapidly with just one bullet, so here's how it's done.

With the Season 2 update, Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Reloaded, the season 2 release is coming to an end, and the developers have promised significant changes. Both Ranked Play and the fan-favorite Hardcore mode will be included with the now-delayed Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 update.

Despite the fact that players will soon enter their second season of content, some players are still making new discoveries to improve their multiplayer performance. One of these new discoveries has demonstrated a simple and easy way to defeat a VTOL in just a few seconds with just one bullet.

Wexxo's posted a video to the Modern Warfare 2 subreddit highlighting an essential tip that every player should memorize. As you can see in the below, it takes the player only a few seconds to completely destroy the VTOL and render it useless.

In Modern Warfare 2, how do you get rid of VTOL fast?

Two Thermites are thrown up in the sky, aimed directly at the hovering VTOL Killstreak, causing massive damage. After the Thermites hit their target, the player's weapon only requires one bullet to knock down the VTOL.

With the Resupply Perk, you'll need to get a Perk Package to perform the big brain trick. The Bonus Perk allows you to spawn with a weapon that's not already deadly.

The player explained that they prefer this Thermite method to using a heavy weapon with incendiary rounds because of its efficiency: “Every time VTOL comes up, it takes a lot of time to switch to my gun to SO-14.”

If you find that switching to an anti-aircraft loadout is too stressful, then Thermite is a great alternative. They're more suited to a standard loadout that you can keep handy at all times.
