Adam Driver, who plays the Fantastic Four in Star Wars, has been rubbed ...

Adam Driver, who played Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, may be the front-runner to play the new Reed Richards from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Fantastic Four.

The Fantastic Four's direction has been heating up, with WandaVision's Matt Shakman being chosen to direct, while Disaster Wedding's Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer writing the script. Fan casts are at an all-time high.

Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic, will take over as the team's director and director of a blockbuster film. Names such as Penn Badgley, John Krasinski, and Diego Luna have been included, but Adam Driver is the most recent actor to enter the fray.

Insider Jeff Sneider revealed that Driver may be in line for the Mr. Fantastic role, or even Doctor Doom. Yet while he stated that this was from an "unproven" source, he noted that it "smells right to [him."

Adam Driver of Star Wars is mulling a Fantastic Four lead.

Grace Randolph of Beyond the Trailer suggested that Star Wars' Kylo Ren actor Adam Driver might be in the running to play Reed Richards, known as Mr. Fantastic, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Fantastic Four reboot.

According to The Direct's own sources, Driver is Marvel Studios' top casting choice to play the new Reed Richards.

Before revealing his hopes that he will land the role, Randolph said the actor is a "front-runner for a certain stretchy role."

Will Adam Driver play Reed Richards from the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Adam Driver has a lot on his plate in what is expected to be a highly competitive battle for the Fantastic Four's lead. Thanks to the Star Wars sequel trilogy, he has already established an intimate connection with Disney in the movies.

Driver has won two Oscar nominations for Best Actor in a Marriage Story and Best Supporting Actor in BlacKkKlansman, demonstrating his proven ability.

Driver is currently working on two projects with 65 and Ferrari, so his work there is likely to be completed. While he is currently shooting Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis, which should finish in March, his schedule is wide open.

Driver isn't the first Star Wars actor to have his name mentioned in the Fantastic Four, although previous reports suggested Andor's Diego Luna as being in the running. However, his latest statements appear to dismiss the notion, as he stated that he'll already be "busy" for the next two years and may not even act beyond that.

Driver's chances of clinching the Fantastic Four lead will only be confirmed as one of the year's "big-get roles," according to the Marvel Studios' usual presentation event this summer.
