Oscar Nominations 2023: Everything at the Same Time, All Quiet on the Western Front Sweep Categories ...

Finally, we have the Oscar nominees for 2023!

Oscar nominees for the 95th Academy Awards were officially announced on Tuesday, January 24 via livestream by Oscar winner Riz Ahmed (“Sound of Metal,” “The Night Of”), and Allison Williams (“M3GAN,” “Get Out,” “Girls”).

With 11 nominations, 'Everything Everywhere All At Once' was the most nominated, including for Best Picture, Director for Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, and acting nominees for Stephanie Hsu, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ke Huy Quan, and Michelle Yeoh.

"The Banshees of Inisherin" received nine nominations, including for acting hopefuls Kerry Condon, Brendan Gleeson, Barry Keoghan, and Colin Farrell.

Observers consider 'All Quiet on the Western Front' to be a top pick, proving just how much work it's given in the past few months.

"Elvis," directed by Baz Luhrmann, received eight nominations, including for Best Picture and Austin Butler for Best Actor, but Luhrmann was left out of the Best Director category.

Steven Spielberg for Best Director was nominated for the film "The Fabelmans." With his 90th nomination, John Williams became the oldest competing Oscar nominee ever.

"Top Gun: Maverick" received six nominations, including for Best Picture. However, Tom Cruise did not receive a nomination for Best Actor, as some believed he might. "TAR" also received six nominations.

For "Avatar: The Way of Water," it was a subdued performance, despite raking in the box office and its predecessor's outstanding Oscar nominations performance. James Cameron was not included in the Director.

"Women Talking" received only two nominations, while "Triangle of Sadness" received three. The ones for "Triangle" were particularly impressive, given that the film did not appear elsewhere: Original Screenplay, Director, and Picture.

The 95th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 12 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Jimmy Kimmel is expected to return as the host for the third time, with the telecast streaming on ABC.com, Hulu Live TV, and YouTubeTV in addition to broadcast.

The Academy of Film and Television Arts recognizes big blockbuster films like "Avatar: The Way of Water," "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," and "Top Gun: Maverick."
