Riot Games unveiled a new game mode for VALORANT later this year.
Anna Donlon, VALORANT's executive producer, said that Riot's take on Team Deathmatch will be introduced to the game in the next dev diary YouTube video for 2023. No further details on the game mode were provided in the video, but we can make some estimates on how it will play out.
Team Deathmatch involves several teams, usually two, facing off against each other to achieve the greatest number of kills in a single match. There is usually no other objective other than planting the Spike, which is seen in the majority of VALORANT's game modes.
"We'll see you soon. Maybe at a live event or in a new agent." Check out one of Andy's new modes like Swiftplay or the one I'm most excited about: our take on Team Deathmatch. "Andy didn't talk about Team Deathmatch," Donlon said at the end of the video.
Riot's developer diaries serve as a sneak peek into what's next for the franchise. Other new features include a new agent or Swiftplay, which is currently in beta testing.
Many other shooter games, such as Call of Duty or Doom, have influenced Team Deathmatch, the latter of which is recognized as the origin of the Deathmatch game mode.
