The Dragonflight expansion for World of Warcraft brought a slew of new challenges and mechanics, all set in the spectacular scenery of the Dragon Isles, from the open, vivid Ohn'ahran Plains to the death and gloom of the Obsidian Citadel. The city of Valdrakken is at the heart of the new destination, serving as its main hub.
Valdrakken is a vast (if not labyrinthian) city that houses Alliance and Horde players, providing a vast (if not labyrinthian) market for goods and cosmetics since Dragonflight, making it a popular base of operations for players throughout the Dragon Isles.
With the release of Dragonflight, WoW did not allow players to toggle War Mode within the walls of Valdrakken. This meant adventurers who wanted to enable PvP would have to return to either Stormwind or Ogrimmar to toggle War Mode, and then return to the Dragon Isles.
In WoW: Dragonflight, is it possible to toggle War Mode?
As of Patch 10.0.5, which will be released on January 24, 2023, players may toggle War Mode within Valdrakken, as well as in Stormwind (Alliance) and Ogrimmar (Horde), just like before the update.
War Mode can be beneficial to players who want to increase their XP with a toggled ability, since it grants them a reward for mobs and quests collected in the game, although you run the risk of encountering vicious enemy players.
Although players may only activate War Mode in Stormwind, Ogrimmar, and Valdrakken, they may disable it from any rest location, including inns and small cities.
