Season 2 of Modern Warfare will offer the traditional Hardcore mode that players have been craving.
Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 is expected to release on February 1, but the developers have pushed the release date back to February 15 in order to review the game's state.
According to the Call of Duty team, the developers are planning significant changes based on community input. In terms of Modern Warfare 2, Ranked Play and a tried and true Hardcore mode have topped the wishlist.
With the Season 2 update, both appear to be able to make their way to Modern Warfare 2.
In Season 2, Modern Warfare 2 will introduce a hardcore mode.
Infinity Ward announced that "Hardcore" is back! In Modern Warfare 2, the barebones mode with limited HUD and less health will be released.
Hardcore mode is a Call of Duty game staple and has appeared in every title since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The mode is well-known for its ability to grind camos.
Following the release of Modern Warfare 2, players received the Tier 1 playlist, which was viewed as a rebranding of the Hardcore mode.
Tier 1 has many of the same features as Hardcore, including limited health, but it failed to attract players who believed it lacked hitmakers or a kill feed, and opted for no HUD rather than limited HUD.
The detailed blog will be released during the week of January 23, but it appears that the same Hardcore experience that CoD players know and love will be repeated in Modern Warfare Season 2.
