Payment Changes in Final Fantasy 14 Have Fueled Rumours of a Remake of Final Fantasy 11

Payment Changes in Final Fantasy 14 Have Fueled Rumours of a Remake of Final Fantasy 11 ...

Square Enix has announced changes to the payment processor used in the Final Fantasy 14 Mog Station and Online Store. This is usually a surprise for players, as it ties in with reports earlier this month that the game's subscription would merge with Final Fantasy 11 and that a remake of the latter is in the works.

When will the payment changes take place?

The Final Fantasy 14 payment changes will take place at the end of February 2023. Players will need to update their subscriptions to maintain the old payment processor. JCB, Carte Bleue, and SEPA (Sofort) payment methods will no longer be accepted, although players may continue to use PayPal, Amazon Pay, and Paysafecard.

Players believe that these payment processor changes are indicative of the Final Fantasy XI/Final Fantasy XIV subscription unity project that is rumored to be announced during the 35th anniversary presentation on February 7th, rather than a brand new MMORPG. Square Enix is yet to confirm whether or not the Final Fantasy 11 remake rumors are true.
