Has there ever been a Pokémon who was engulfed in as much 'controversy' (inadvertently, of course) as Sprigatito?

Sprigatito was first shown online months before Pokémon Scarlet and Violet was released, and enthusiasts immediately fell in love with the hemp leaf-shaped marking on its face and collar. Sprigatito is a weed cat Pokémon, but it is also a stoner's mascot, thanks to its ability to emit a "sweet scent."

Sprigatito became a mascot again on January 19 for something completely different—anarchy, after Swiss hacker maia arson crimew used a plush version of it to cover a leaked ‘no-fly list’ hosted by US airline CommuteAir.

The hacker leaked the information and posted the photo of Sprigatito on their website, which has other cat-themed features, so it's no surprise their favorite Gen. IX starter is Sprigatito.

Sprigatito evolves into Floragato and Meowscarada, the latter of whom is also a trickster and an illusionist, which ties into both themes quite nicely.
