The FaZe Clan has become accustomed to conflict, with a few individuals who have appeared in the headlines for questionable behavior over the years. Many players have come and gone through the organization's ranks, including FaZe Virus, who seems to have left after leaving in 2020.
Jake Lucky, a media personality, talked about the events as they happened in a tweet on January 24. FaZe did what most famous brands were doing and changed its profile image to a rainbow icon to represent equality for the LGBTQ+ community. At the time, FaZe Virus made it known he didn't support this message and may have used it as his reason for leaving the organization.
The FaZe symbol Virus that he had opposed to on January 23 was the same one that he had opposed to in 2022, according to many people. These two statements are unlikely to be linked.
Virus claims in a recent video that FaZe was unable to expand into the Middle East and that his input was often ignored. He was also apparently kept away from social media, certain events, and brand partnerships that others were getting.
Many of the Virus's complaints may be related to his being less accepting of people he disagreed with, to the point that he couldn't ignore a marketing tool every June. Every brand does the same thing each June, changing their social media icons to something like a rainbow. If FaZe had trouble stomaching that, maybe he might have been reluctant to offer him high-value opportunities.
Virus has not taken his decision in stride, posting images showing how he expects the FaZe stock price to plummet.
