After it was reported that Madonna's film was put on hold for the time being. This comes as she prepares to embark on a world voyage across North America and Europe, leaving little time for her to help out during pre-production.

Universal Pictures told Variety that Madonna would direct the biopic herself. However, the worldwide tour, which included sold-out shows in cities like New York and London, has put a wrench in the works. This led to the decision to put a halt to the film's production for the time being.

Madonna: The Celebration Tour is the singer's 12th concert, which is scheduled to begin on July 15, 2023. The tour begins in Vancouver, Canada, and finishes on December 2, 2023, in Amsterdam.

Madonna's biopic was first announced in 2020, and actress Julia Garner was chosen to play the pop icon. Madonna said in a 2022 interview that she wanted to portray her life in a more "hands-on" role in the film's production.

Madonna is still interested in working on the film. However, production will be halted for the time being, at least until the tour ends.
