Justin Roiland has officially separated from Rick and Morty, in the same confirmation everyone had expected for a while. The co-creator's position is becoming increasingly untenable as a result of the allegations and accusations that have been dominating the discourse since they became public.
Naturally, the internet began putting countless names forward to fill vacant title roles, and there are no shortages of individuals out there who might excel at a stellar job. Of course, the most terrifying prospect of all began sending shivers down the collective spine.
Evidently, it's become a routine at this point to suggest Chris Pratt for nearly every major animated voice role that becomes available, but history has shown that the veteran Guardians of the Galaxy isn't entirely against hiring recording booth positions.
It would also serve to deepen the connection between Rick and Morty and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the cult favorite series buried more deeply in the comic book juggernaut. Is it going to happen? Absolutely not, except Dan Harmon is planning on slaying a terrible troll.
Pratt will not be voicing Rick, Morty, or both, although we'll be curious to see who fills the empty hole left by the disgraced Roiland now that his connection with the show is over.
