Is Riot down? What to do if a Riot client does not succeed

Is Riot down? What to do if a Riot client does not succeed ...

Sometimes, a platform like Riot just refuses to allow you to play the game you want to enjoy, such as Valorant. You simply receive an error message instead. In some cases, you just need to restart the client and try again. But it's also possible that Riot itself is down. Here's what you should do in both cases.

Riot is down, so here's how to check if it's not.

Check out the Riot Games Service Status page to see if Riot Games is down. From there you may check Current Messages. This will tell you if Riot Games has detected any current service interruptions. If there is nothing there, check Recently Closed to ensure the service issue has not been recently addressed.

If there is nothing on either side, it's likely there is a problem on your side. Double-check in a few minutes to see if Riot Games was unaware of the problem when you first checked.

If Riot isn't working, what should you do?

If Riot isn't working due to a Riot Games issue, you'll need to wait it out. There is nothing you can do in this instance. Riot Games will eventually resolve the problem that caused the interruption, at which point you'll be able to play again.

Check your internet connection first if it is okay, then restart Riot completely. These two things will usually resolve your connection issue. If not, restart your entire PC before trying Riot again.
