If you are like us, you are probably still reeling from the wonderful Neil Patrick Harris comeback in the second season of How I Met Your Father. How can you be so surprised? It took us by surprise, and we do tend to think that it opens the door to a lot of other possibilities.
Despite this cameo, we may be waiting a while to see what Barney Stinson brings to this program. When Sophie hits Barney's car, we may get a pretty good story.
Harris is the second major How I Met Your Mother cast member to appear on the new program, following on from Cobie Smulders as Robin at the end of season 1. The irony here is that Barney and Robin remained together for a long time, so will that ever happen again? We'll have to wait and see.
Here's all Isaac Aptaker had to say to TV Insider about the possibility that another OG cast member would appear before the end of the season.

Lily is probably the next person we'd like to see — Ted Mosby feels like the final one who should come, mostly because the original was his story, and it's always nice to have a cameo preserved till the end.
