The premiere date for Season 7 of Outlander has been debated ...

It's wonderful to have at least some sense of consensus as to when Outlander season 7 will premiere on Starz. Would it be great to have something more? Sure, but we're not quite there as yet.

Here's what we can do right now: The network is going to do whatever they can to ensure that there is a lot of show-related content over the next several years. They recognize that season 8 is the last season, and by virtue of that, we think they will be generous when it comes to sprinkling out content over the years.

It would be great if more details were revealed in the near future, but here is what we can say for the time being: The first half of season 7 will be available this year. It might be, however, only saved for the final eight episodes until early 2023, since that is where the mystery begins to creep in.

If there is a big debate we expect the series to have, it will be whether or not to air Outlander: Blood of My Blood before or after the final season. We tend to think that a lot of it will be based on scheduling. Given that Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, and the rest of the cast have been filming season 7 for so long, we could see them taking a year off to do other things.

If Blood of My Blood comes out in mid-to-late 2024, we wouldn't be surprised, and that sets the stage for a season 8 premiere at some point in 2025, but who knows what the future might hold? There is still room for spin-offs and other initiatives, but viewership over the next two years might play a significant role.
