The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob's Burgers are all returning in the future of Fox's animated lineup. Not only that, all three shows will be stuck until at least the spring of 2025.
The network has ordered two additional seasons of each of these programs, which brings The Simpsons to season 36, Family Guy to season 23, and Bob's Burgers to season 15. Fox has never shown any indication that they will terminate any of these programs; The Simpsons already has the distinction of being the longest-running scripted series ever. Although the network does still make money from the episodes, they are also developing new programming.
Here's what Fox scripted president Michael Thorn to say in a statement confirming the renewal:
"With this trio of renewals, we salute Fox's outstanding animation, our wonderful long-standing partnership with 20th Television, and the incredible voices that drive these forever favorites... Three-plus decades of The Simpsons, more than two decades of Family Guy, and over a decade of Bob's Burgers demonstrate the continued power of the animation genre on our network, and the endless fan affinity for these outrageous comedy classics."
Marci Proietto, the executive vice president of 20th Television Animation, has added the following:
“We couldn’t be more proud to continue to offer these three animated hits with the most brilliant teams in animation,” says the producer of “Fox. Over the past three decades, this trio of programs has thrived, grown, and delivered incredible moments of hilarious and irreverent entertainment for fans, and we are absolutely thrilled that Fox is increasing its focus on each of these iconic shows.”
