GoldenEye 007, a beloved N64 game, is finally returning to (some) modern consoles after years of anticipation. Fans are eager to reclaim the beloved classic, although the answer to when will they be able to play GoldenEye
The GoldenEye 007 remaster will be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on January 27th. Both platforms will now have the remastered FPS available through their most popular subscription service (Xbox Game Pass and Nintendo Switch Online). Those who have already registered will be able to begin playing the game as soon as it is released to the general public.
If you aren't already subscribed to these services, then things get tricky. Until now, Nintendo has not revealed any plans to release a digital retail version of GoldenEye 007. That means that the only way to get the game on your device is to join the Switch Online + Expansion Pack plan (which will set you back $50 a year).
GoldenEye 007 will be available for free to anyone who purchased the Rare Replay collection on Xbox. Otherwise, both Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to access the game via their console (though a PC version of the remaster is unfortunately not available at this time).
GoldenEye 007 will be available to players throughout the world by January 27 and that the game's specific release time in certain regions was not disclosed by the Xbox team. It's also worth noting that some previous Game Pass titles aren't usually added to the service until sometime closer to 3 A.M. EST.
GoldenEye 007 will not be available on Nintendo's service until midnight in your region on the 27th or (more likely) at least a few hours after that.
The re-release of GoldenEye has a lot to say about it, and we hope to share more of it once more people may be able to enjoy it again. For the time being, though, it’s best to keep an eye on new updates to your favorite subscription services until the calendar changes to January 27th.
