Naughty Dog has announced that the series is complete and that it does not intend to develop any new games, according to Uncharted fans. Neil Druckmann, the company's chief executive, said in an interview with Buzzfeed that:
A fan account has posted a comment on how people feel about the Uncharted film one year after its release:
Uncharted wasn't quite what it could have been. We couldn't help but feel that Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg had been miscast throughout the film, though other than that, it was a great fun adventure with some great action sequences.
Fans of the game agree:
With little praise, you can talk about damning.
Did it feel like an Uncharted film?
Others are less gratifying:
And for some, it comes at the risk of ruining the original games:
Uncharted didn't delight viewers, but it seems to have gotten its share of fans, exceeding $400 million in revenue. That means a sequel is likely to be in the works, although re-creating Tom Holland as Nathan Drake might be difficult due to his open reticence for the job in the first place.
