Ashika Island POI is a multiplayer map for Modern Warfare 2

Ashika Island POI is a multiplayer map for Modern Warfare 2 ...

The new Warzone Resurgence map, Ashika Island, has been officially revealed, and Modern Warfare 2 players think one of these POIs would make for a perfect 6v6 multiplayer map.

The Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 update will be the most extensive update in both games to date. After being postponed by two weeks, the patch is making major gameplay changes to the battle royale and bringing Hardcore mode back to Modern Warfare 2.

Despite the absence of new game modes and new maps, many fans have felt that Warzone 2 is preferred by the developers more than MW2 multiplayer.

Modern Warfare 2 fans believe they've identified a POI that would make for an ideal 6v6 map in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer.

The Ashika Island map was initially created one location at a time, by the developers, allowing players to see all of the major landing spots in the game. Shortly afterwards, CoD YouTuber TheXclusiveAce picked out the Town Centre POI, which he considered to have all the hallmarks of a fantastic Modern Warfare 2 map.

"This section of the new Resurgence map looks like it might also work as a 6v6 map," he added in a tweet.

The layout in Black Ops 2 is straightforward, consisting of mostly two large buildings with lanes on either side for flanking opportunities. Experts like FaZe Jev and others have compared the POI to Raid from Black Ops 2.

Several other Modern Warfare 2 players responded to the tweet, claiming that Town Center has the necessary layout and design to be a 6v6 multiplayer map.

“And a REALLY good one,” said popular Twitch streamer ApollosMission. “It doesn't look bad. Looks like it might be a good time,” said fellow streamer Dysmo.

Some gamers were hesitant about directly ripping a POI from a battle royale map and putting it in multiplayer, but others believed that the developers may easily modify it to make it more suitable for Modern Warfare 2.

“I wouldn’t mind it one bit,” said PeaceGuy420. “If it saves them development time and allows them to polish both the bigger map and the 6v6 map, it’s a win in my book.”

Infinity Ward is yet to reveal which multiplayer maps will be included in the Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 update, with fans already relieved to learn that Castle will not be one of them. However, the developers already have a popular multiplayer map under their nose.
